Tips
SAFE AREA
Do not position titles, logos and other key scene information on the frame
border, but within the safe area at a distance of 10% of the frame size.
E.g.: for a 720x576 file the safe area is 144 pixels (72 on left + 72
on right) wide and 114 pixels (57 from top + 57 from bottom) high.
10% of frame size; safe area for logos and titles

PIXEL RATIO
Video and film pixel ratios are different.
Video images have a rectangular 1:1.067 pixel ratio, whereas film has
a square 1:1 ratio. Because of this, after processing a circle to video
with telecinema, it will look slightly oval, but it will be perfectly
round if converted back to film.
This requires specific attention during post-production, to avoid image
distortions that could become evident during conversion to film.
ANIMATION AND SLOW AND FAST
MOTION
For animation and slow and fast motion, as well as moving titles, we recommend
setting “frame mode” in the editing station. Even if it is
possible to convert field-set video to film (it can be processed by specific
software), it’s worth remembering that a frame film always ensures
better results.
COLORIMETRIC RANGE
The Video Broadcast colorimetric range is between 16 (min/black) and 235
(max/white) in a scale ranging from 0 to 255.
Such range should be respected if planning to convert a video to film.
