Video and projection masks

Original Format 1:1.33 (4:3)
Cine projection mask = 1:1.66
If the whole PAL picture is to be kept, two black bands reducing the width of the 1:1.66 projection mask size will be visible during conversion, not on the wide screen.

Cine projection mask = 1:1.66
In this case, in order not to use the two black bands, check the picture borders exceeding the mask size
(top and bottom) can be cut off.

Original Format 1:1.77 (16:9)
Cine projection mask = 1:1.85
In the 16:9 format, if the shot is projected at 1.85:1, two very thin portions of it (top and bottom) will be cut off.

If the whole picture is to be kept, two thin black side bands
reducing the width of the projection mask size
will be visible, but not on the wide screen.
